Our Values
NEVER STOP LEARNING
Learning and applying new skills is essential to growth. When the passion for learning dies, work can feel hollow.
We expect our staff to be career long learners. When you stop learning, you stop growing and stagnate. You lose passion for your craft and people begin to question your price increases. Peers pass you by and clients get bored. Continually learning, growing and playing will keep you energized, keep you relevant in the industry and keep your income growing.
Growth can be painful and scary. It requires change and most people seek comfort and safety. Ego and fear of failure can be impediments to growth. The worst thing that can happen when you try something new is you fail. It’s not the end of the world. True masters in almost any career fail their way to mastery.
If it becomes obvious that you are not interested in learning and growth, or are too scared to try in spite of whatever encouragement the salon offers, you are not in the right salon. We don’t want mediocre and we don’t want people who are just putting in the time for a paycheck.
Learning has to be paired with practice. Taking a class, watching a demo or video is one thing, but you won’t truly incorporate what you learned until you do it. After you see a new technique or attend a class, get models or mannequins and DO WHAT YOU LEARNED. Don’t try something new on a client until you’ve proven to yourself that you can do it.
COMMUNICATE HONESTLY
Tell the truth but don’t be mean. Transparency breeds trust and trust is essential for a healthy community. Communicate quickly and frequently.
TAKE CARE OF EACH OTHER
Perform little acts of kindness and support for co-workers and customers. Give your enthusiasm, knowledge and creativity. Work to make those around you successful, because a rising tide lifts all boats.
