Stylist pay & tips

The salon pays 48% commission on the price of services. No charges of any type are taken out of stylist’s pay. On a $100 service, you earn $48 in gross pay.

The salon pays 10% commission on product sales off the shelf. The salon also allows stylists to sell products by affiliate link. Some of the products we carry on the shelves have affiliate link programs and some do not.

The salon is gratuity-free. When explaining prices to clients, use the term “Gratuity Free” instead of saying “the tip is included”. Saying it’s included says we’re still charging a tip, we’re just not saying that. Our prices and commission rate have been set to compensate for the no tipping policy.

We advertise the salon as an all-inclusive experience where the price clients see online is what they pay. Our website says we’re gratuity free and that treatments, glosses, tones, etc are all included in our stated price.

Stylists are not allowed to accept tips for work performed in the salon. Doing so breaks a promise we make to the client before they scheduled. Accepting a tip for work performed in the salon is grounds for termination.
