Credit for Retail Sales

  • In general, styling products go to Stylists (Cutters) regardless of who recommends/sells them. Dry Shampoo is considered a styling product.

  • In general, shampoos & conditioners go to Colorists regardless of who recommends/sells them.

  • When a client only sees one stylist in the salon, (the client only gets haircuts or only gets color), that stylist gets credit for all purchases.

  • When a client buys product without getting a service done, the stylist(s) they regularly see gets credit without being present to make the sale.

  • Styling Tools such as blow dryers, irons, brushes, combs etc go to whoever recommended the item.

We credit retail sales as outlined above to avoid arguments about who sold what and who should get credit. No set of rules can account for every circumstance so when there’s a question about who’s sale it was, the salon will be as fair as possible.

If you’re here for any amount of time you’ll probably have a situation where you feel like you should have gotten the sale and didn’t. If it’s a mistake, bring it to someone’s attention politely, away from customers. The Salon Manager or an owner will take a look at it and fix it if needed. Remember it’s only a couple of dollars and there will likely be another situation where someone else thinks you got credit for something they should have. It all works out over time and we strive to be as fair as possible.
